Puppy Mills Essay Example for Free
pup Mills EssayImagine walking into a pet store and having puppies give you the saddest looks with their keen big teary eyes. Everybody is tempted to take these puppies home because they just appeal and hit every nerve in every way. By spending money on a pup from a pet store, you take for a really ugly industry. This industry is known as puppy manuf seconduring plants. A puppy hang around is a large-scale commercial dog breeding operation where profit is given priority over the well-being of the dogs (ASPCA). Puppy grinder around ar good distinguished by their inhumane conditions and the constant breeding of cankerous and genetic defective dogs solely for profit (Prisoners of Greed).Puppy mills make dogs live very tortured lives. All puppy mills should be banned because of their cruelty to these poor innocent animals. Puppy mills were established in the 1940s after World War II. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) suggested breeding dogs as an alternativ e to wide spread crop failures in the Midwest. The farmers wish this idea because breeding dogs was cheaper and there was less physical labor involved than in growing crops. They besides did not have to worry ab come forth the weather. The farmers took their grumbler coops and rabbit hutches and repurposed them for dogs and the retail pet industry. The farmers had little knowledge of the puppy industry and much had very little money to start this venture. They did not know that puppies needed companionship and they also skipped veterinary care for the puppies. This led to the substandard condition of puppy mills. Retail pet outlets grew so the demand for puppies increased. Major retail stores much(prenominal) as Sears, purchased dogs for their pet departments and pet store chains were born (Wolf). The state of Missouri is the largest puppy mill state in the land . It is estimated that the value of the puppy mill industry to this state is 40 million dollars a year. The puppy brok ers also needed a puppy supply store for the easterly coast, so they convinced the Pennsylvania farmers that puppies were the cash crop of the future. They gave seminars to teach the farmers how to operate their own breeding facilities. Lancaster county PA has earned the nickname of the puppy mill capital of the east (ASPCA). Puppy mills continue to thrive because they prey on consumers who are smitten by the puppies in pet stores or on fancy websites (Stop Puppy Mills). The reality of a puppy mill is that it raises dogs in cramped, crude, and filthy conditions.Puppy mills are distinguishable by their inhumane conditions. They also breed unwellnessy and genetically defective dogs for profit only (prisoners of greed). Dogs are kept in either wood or wire mesh cages or simply tethered to a tree. One facility in Arkansas had cages hanging from the ceiling of an un stir uped cinder-block building (PETA). Wire cages are used to minimize waste cleanup. galore(postnominal) of the puppie s lose their feet and legs because they are caught on the wire floor and they are cut off as the dog struggles to free itself. in that respect is usually no heat or air conditioning in a puppy mill. The dogs go out either die of heat stroke in the summer or stuff to death in the winter. Food that is fed to the dogs in the puppy mills is usually purchased from dog food companies by the truck load. The dog food contains sweepings from the floor. There is so little nutritional value that the dogs teeth can rot at an early age (Prisoner of Greed). Dogs that are bred in puppy mills can experience a multitude of problems ranging from physical to mental due to the overcrowded and unsanitary conditions of the cages.Because the puppies are never allowed out of their cages, this can cause dogs to call on mentally unstable. It is not uncommon to see dogs barking and running in circles. They have no social interaction with people. They are never given toys or treats. This also makes it diffi cult for the dogs to become a part of a family. Puppy mill owners fail to remove sick dogs from their breeding pools, which causes congenital and hereditary conditions. These can acknowledge diseases such as epilepsy and musculoskeletal disorders such as dysplasia, deafness and eye problems. The dogs also arrive at the stores with infirmities and diseases such as mange, heartworm, and distemper (ASPCA). Many dogs will get wounds from being bitten by other dogs and the breeders do not regular take care of these wounds so they stay open allowing bacteria to enter the cutis and cause infection. Life is circumstancely bad for the female dogs. The mothers spend loveless lives in tiny stacked cages, from which they are never released to eat, play or make up defecate. These females receive little or no veterinary care (Stop Puppy Mills). By the age of five, most female dogs can no longer throw up at the puppy mills. At this point, they no longer have any value to the owners and are kil led by being bashed in the head with a rock or shot (Prisoner of Greed). The mom and dad of the puppies are unlikely to make it out of the mill alive. The result of all of this breeding is hundreds of thousands of puppies with behavior and or be restoredth problems (Stop Puppy Mills) In Riverside, Iowa an owner told USDA that he performed surgical procedures such as tail docking, ear cropping, and declawing the puppies. The owner used no anesthetic agents and he did not sterilize his tools. This owner was also not licensed to practice veterinary medicine or surgery in any state. All of the enceinte dogs and puppies had open lesions and damage to ears, legs, and or torsos. If the puppies are fortunate enough to survive the conditions of the puppy mills, they then have to face the dangerous journey across the country to the various pet stores. Hundreds of thousands of puppies are taken from their mothers and sold to brokers who pack puppies into crates and then ship them cross-count ry to be sold in pet shops. These puppies can spark hundreds of thousands of miles in flumpup trucks, tractor trailers, and or/airplanes, often without adequate food, water, ventilation, or shelter. In Missouri, a trailer was stopped by the USDA. It had thirty trine cages that contained sixty three puppies. They did not have adequate water or food. They were later arrested. (Stop Puppy Mills). Since running puppy mills is a business, the facility is designed for profit so they do not care at all about the well-being of these puppies. Some of the puppies are sold via newspaper classifieds or internet sites and are often accompanied by false claims saying We would never sell puppies from a puppy mill. They will also say that the puppies are home increase, or raised(a) with kids (Stop Puppy Mills). Many of these puppies being sent to pet stores have never or rarely received the kind of loving human contact that is requisite for them to become suitable companions when puppies reach the pet stores, conditions do not even improve. They are still kept in small cages with wire on the bottom. They are still without exercise, love and human contact. They will develop undesirable behaviors and may bark excessively or become destructive and unsociable (PETA).Many consumers urgency to purchase purebred dogs even though they may not be educated about the breed or ready for the commitment that puppies require. Movies like one hundred one Dalmatians and Beethoven or commercials such as those for Taco Bell can cause a jump in popularity for certain breeds. This demand for a particular breed triggers an increase of breeding for that particular type of dog as the puppy mills try to meet the consumers demand. When a St. Bernard doesnt act like Beethoven or the Dalmatians are high strung, rescue groups and animal shelters become flooded with these breeds. At puppy mills, puppies are bred for quantity, not quality so genetic defects and personality disorders are diminished on from generation to generation (PETA). With all of these puppies being tortured many would assume that in todays globe there should be a law passed or that the government should have stepped in and saved these poor puppies. The Animal Welfare Act (AWA) is administered by the US Department of Agriculture. The act has several categories of businesses that handle dogs. One is pet dealers who import, buy, sell, trade or transport pets in sweeping channels.Another is pet breeders who breed for the wholesale trade, whether for selling animals to other breeders or selling to brokers or directly to pet stores or laboratories. The AWA however does not define puppy mill (Wolf). Under the federal official AWA, commercial breeders selling directly to pet stores must be licensed by the USDA. The AWA does not regulate breeders that sell directly to the public. Since the AWA was passed in 1966 it was before the network boom and the lawmakers did not see that commercial breeders would have the ab ility to sell to consumers through the internet. This allows a loophole for mills to operate without a license and without fear of inspection. The mills are not accountable to anyone for their breeding and care standards (ASPCA). The AWA and many states have laws that purport to regulate puppy mills, but the fact is that those laws are rarely obligate (Prisoners of Greed). In May, 2008, the ASPCA and other welfare groups successfully fought for an amendment to Congresss Farm Bill. This bill would prohibit the importation of puppies less than six months of age for the purpose of resale. In September 2008, a bill known as Babys Bill (in honor of Baby, a three legged rescued puppy mill survivor) was introduced in the House of Representatives. This legislation was to close the loophole that allowed commercial breeders to sell puppies online. It would also require all dogs to be let out of their cages and exercised daily. Unfortunately it did not pass The ASPCA will try again next year to get the bill passed. Certain states are now passing laws to help control the number of fully grown dogs a breeder may possess. Virginia and Louisiana were among the first states to pass these laws.As the voting public becomes more vocal in its objection to the puppy mills, legislator support should increase. There are ways that you can fight puppy mills. Start by refusing to patronize the stores and websites that sell their puppies. The biggest thing a person can do is not buy a puppy from a pet store. Another thing to do is not buy a puppy from any enter that does not show you records of its entire facility. Ask to meet the mother dog. Consider becoming active and joining the ASPCA to pass legislation that ensures that all animals bred are raised in healthy conditions (ASPCA).When buying a puppy, consider adoption. By adopting instead of buying, it is a way to hurt puppy mills. Another suggestion is to find a responsible breeder and visit their premises. By visiting the home of a respectful breeder, you can check if the puppies have been provided with a loving and healthy milieu (Stop Puppy Mills). Never send Western Union or money order payments. If a breeder or broker says there will be no refunds for a sick puppy, then the puppy is most likely coming from a puppy mill. When purchasing a puppy also pick it up.Do not have the puppy shipped or meet at a random location (PETA). Puppy mills have been going on since the late 1940s and they need to end. Poor innocent puppies die every year from malnutrition, diseases, open wounds and broken bones that do not get to heal properly. Since puppy mills are a business, all the breeders care about is the profit they make. They neglect these poor puppies by not feeding them or even giving them love and care they deserve. In 2007, a man named Bob Baker joined the ASPCA as an undercover investigator. He raided a puppy mill in Buxton, MF, and seized more than 200 dogs. Baker released his findings to the papers. This incr eased the consumers awareness of the dangers of puppy mills. The PETA organization is a big advocate of getting information out about these mills. Many people have gone undercover with video cameras to witness and record these horrible acts. Celebrities are showing their support by qualification statements through PETA or doing television commercials to raise the consumers awareness. Puppy mills are a huge tragedy in this world today that unavoidably to be stopped.

Her body, her baby, her choice Essay Example for Free
Her body, her baby, her selection EssayAbortion, its not a choice that any woman would ever want to have to make, but its a decision that she should have the right to make. If it comes down to the possibility of her and her baby losing their lives, she should be able to stop this possibly fatal pregnancy. The body is hers, the baby is hers, and the choice should be hers. If you disagree, make the choice for your own body. Abortion should be legal. What flock whitethorn not realize is that, legal or not, stillbirth still happens any around the world.Of the approximately 42 million miscarriages that do occur worldwide, about half(a) argon performed by unskilled individuals, in environments that do not meet minimum medical standards or both. (http//www. guttmacher. org/pubs/gpr/12/4/gpr120402. html). Unsafe and illegal abortion is responsible for one in eight maternal deaths and according to an estimate done by the World Health Organization in 2006 back thoroughfare abortion s cause about 68,000 deaths each year where abortion isnt legal. There is no question that making abortion illegal in places such as the United States, will only make these numbers increase greatly. Its no secret that raising a child requires mass amounts of money that umpteen women who choose pregnant dont have, especially if they have no partner to help them out. Poor and low income women account for more than half of abortions in the United States. Without the option to get an abortion, there would be umteen more children suffering because they have to live their life in exiguity. Al closely half of all children with a single mother live in poverty, these children experience poverty at a rate that is more than four times higher than kids in married-couple families.Although, it is believed that abortion legalization may have led to an improvement in the average living conditions of children, probably by reducing the numbers of youngsters who would have lived in single-parent fa milies, lived in poverty, received welfare and died as infants. (https//www. guttmacher. org/pubs/journals/3402502. html) Many people who are against abortion dont take into consideration that not all women are able to safely give birth to a child and the put on the line of death associated with childbirth is about 10 times as high as the risk of death associated withabortion. For example, teen girls aged around 15-19 years old have bodies that are not yet ready for childbirth. These girls are five times more likely to die, with around 70,000 of them dying annually. Their babies that do survive still have a 60% higher chance of dying than normal babies. With so much uncertainty, why shouldnt they have the option to prevent themselves and their own parents the pain of losing a child. Many people believe that women are using abortion as a form of birth control. That they believe that they no longer need to be cautious because they can go pop over to the doctors to get an abortion when ever. However, this isnt the case and, more often than not, women who get abortions were on some sort of birth control. Though, with any birth control there is almost always a chance of it not working properly and you becoming pregnant. Only less than one in ten women getting abortions werent on any sort of birth control.Making abortion illegal forces women who may have taken many precautions to not become pregnant to have a child that they dont want and makes it so that an unwanted child is born into this world. This would not be fair to the woman or the child. Something that many people who oppose to abortion believe is that abortion, spontaneous or induced, raises the risk of look cancer or any other type of cancer. There have been many, many studies done studies by various people such as the National Registry of Induced Abortions, the Danish Cancer Registry, Harvard researchers, and The California Teachers Study. The large size of most of the studies and the manner in which they were done provide good evidence that induced labor does not affect a womans risk of evolution breast cancer. In 2003, the U. S. National Cancer Institute had a workshop with more than 100 of the worlds leading experts who study pregnancy and breast cancer risk. They all found that neither induced or spontaneous abortion are linked to an increase in breast cancer risk the level of scientific evidence for these findings was considered the highest level, well established.Abortion should be legal because it saves many womens lives from unsafe abortion, it can save families from lifelong poverty and it may save the lives of women who are unable to safely give birth to children. In a coarse that is based on liberty freedom of speech, freedom of religion, individual freedom, why should this situation be any different? A law based off of a religious belief isnt something that this country stands for, a law that prevents women from making decisions about her own body should not be a law in this country.

Reflective Report on Mega Simulation Game
Reflective Report on Mega Simulation GameEXECUTIVE SUMMARYThe report is slightly a 12-week critical evaluation about my experience of the Mega Simulation Game that I was to execute with other four conclave members. The exercise requires identifying the primary brooding theories that go forth be used for broody learning. In my case, I used Lawrence-Wilkes REFLECT and Gibbs Reflective exemplification. I used these dickens models to enumerate on deuce incidences in the gathering survive experience, which were related to inter separateized dynamics, and personal surgical procedure in-group work. The interpersonal dynamics such as personality clashes, different cultural values, and personal takes acted as a hindrance to talk and collaboration. However, the commitment of the squad was very high and this kept the aggroup waiver. The second incidence was on personal feat where the group leveraged on individual powers and delegated tasks. The delegation of tasks was fruitful but the end product was not collect to personal inte eases overriding the group interests. I learnt the unavoidableness for effective communication, the power of leadership and the need to accommodate varied opinions.IntroductionReflection has numerous meaning that includes self-review, self-awargonness, self-criticism, self-appraisal, self-assessment, personal cognizance and other terms that are related to these terms. Boyd and Fales (1983) defined rebuke learning as the process of extern ally examining and exploring an issue of concern, triggered by an experience, which creates and clarifies meaning in terms of self and which resultants in a changed conceptual perceptive. The definition brings out key important issues in contemplative learning there needs to be an issue that is examined, meaning of the issue must(prenominal) be derived and sufferly the meaning should improve the perspective of the individual in a similar situation in the future. In this reflection paper, I will pursue two types of reflection interpersonal dynamics and military operation of the members of the groups. Teamwork is used everywhere from class settings to organizations and even commwholeies to accomplish tasks that require collaboration, brainstorming and synergy. The primary target area of a squad is delegation of responsibility and development of a proper plan for the completion of a goal (Hughes and J onenesss, 2011). The interpersonal dynamics is about how citizenry use nonverbal cues such as facial expressions and body language to complement verbal communication in on-on-one interactions. The reason I decided to controvert interpersonal dynamics is because I saw the group as a cross-functional one rather than a functional one. The reasons I think the group was cross-functional was that all the members in the group were specializing on different careers and also we had never worked together as a team. The simulation game was a one clock time project where the group would be dissolved after its completion. Parker (2015) noted that cross functional teams were more susceptible to interpersonal barriers such as cultural biases, work styles, turf wars, conflicts, need of trust, and differing priorities. near of these things played out during our game simulation task. The second area that I am going to explore is performance of members in the group. I felt this is an area worthy of exploitation as the different members had a different level of performance towards contributing to the success of the group. It is impossible to separate team performance from individual performance because the former depends on the latter. Individual standards comprise of the performance expectations that separately team member expresses as personal pres reliable to achieve (Larson and LaFasto, 1999). I specifically noted that I put a lot of effort together with another member in the teamwork, which stimulated others to perform let on, but sometimes it was not suffi cient enough to reach our desired goals.I will employ the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988) and Lawrence-Wilkes REFLECT model (2014) to critically reflect on the two MSG experiences. I used Gibbs reflective model because it is a simple model to use and provides questions that I have to answer in a particular order. Just like the Gibbs model, Lawrence-Wilkes REFLECT model uses a simple concept of reflection making it easy for the user to apply it. The model uses a bacronym (an acronym devised in reverse to fit a word) on the word REFLECT. I will not be using the Honey and Munfords learning style as it is besides simplistic in its steps to allow me to critically reflect on my experiences.Gibbs reflective model is a useful tool in reflection as it provides critical material bodys of an experience from what one experienced to how they would polish off changes and respond bettor in subsequent events. The different phases include description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, an d action plan. Below is the Gibbs reflective cycle with the relevant questions that need to be answered for each phaseFigure 1 (Gibbs, 1988)Gibbs reflective model directly fits to the happenings of the group. In my reflection, I was beginning question why there was no sense of cohesion in the group when we started. The opinions were so divers(prenominal) and the commitments were so dissimilar. I was feeling that personal priorities and interest were approach shot in the way of cooperative approach. Most of the group members, including I felt distraught and disillusioned by the progress of the group in the initial weeks due to the lack of organization and forgetful ranking. We did not have a leader who would inspire us through with(predicate) the disillusionment. In the Tuckmans stages, the group dwelled so much in the forming stage where the group members were getting to know each other and there was general socializing (Martin, 2006).Lawrence-Wilkes -REFLECT model (2014) compri ses of steps that are almost similar to that of Gibbs reflective cycle but it goes to a deeper level to analyze elements such as strengths and weaknesses, reference to remote checks, encountering at the responsibilities and asking the what if question. The model examines more expand that not only assist in reviewing past experiences but also learning from them and integrating new ideas to enable change. The model requires reviewing of experiences from both objective and personal angles. Below is the REFLECT barconym used in the model.Table 1 (Lawrence-Wilkes and Ashmore, 2014) Lawrence-Wilkes REFLECT model of Reflective PracticeR1. (Repeat cycle Recall)Incident 1My group was comprised of five members that are evidently from different cultural back grounds and also hold diverse views and values. I noticed due to the diversity in the group, there was no effective communication and there were issues when it came to sense of responsibility. The first incident was our groups inability to draw cohesively due to differences in personality and cultural values. My precedent encounter with the topic of diversity is that it (diversity) can lead to team effectiveness and innovation (West, 2012). But on the contrary, the initial weeks of our groups was faced with communication chal lenges as we worked together.Initially, I thought that the reason for the incongruity was that the exercise was new to everyone and no one had substantive education on how to go about the exercise. Everyone in the group was in constant search of what is expected of the exercise. The disappointment was evident in week 3 due to the poor ranking, which left everyone demotivated. Waller, Gupta and Giambatista (2004) noted that lack of effective communication leads to deviation from attaining team goals. We got confused on what were our desired goals. Despite the miscommunication, the group was able to function as there were elements that were consistent with structuration theory on how groups use rules and resources to form its structure (Frey, Gouran and Poole, 1999).Our group was held together by the weekly meeting that were mandatory and I cerebrate were it not for the rules, the team functioning would have been impaired.I must applaud my group because irrespective of the communica tion barriers, the group was able to hold on and extend to overcome these barriers. The attendance of the meetings was satis featureory as there was minimal absenteeism, which was accompanied by apologies and genuine reasons such as illness or class time. In my assessment, the general theme of the group according to Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was feelers instead if thinkers. Feelers judge situations based on feelings or emotions while thinkers judge situations based on logical analysis (Quenk, 2013). Most of the choices that were made such as merchandise for design cars were based on personal emotions, which lead to disregard of positions and information.I must admit despite the personality clash in the group all the group members were committed to accomplishing the task successfully. The commitment even inspired us on meeting twice a week to listen and better our ranking and get a better grip of the whole game simulation concept. Personally, I was not thinking about h ow to bridge the miscommunication gap or clashing personalities but on the task at hand and this was also the general kink in the group. Even up to the end of the exercise in the 12th week, we communicated but we never did so effectively. The ranking of the group improved over time even though it did not reach the desired goal. Upon critical review at the end of the exercise, I could only soak up sense of the group performance through the self-organization theory. The theory postulates that order can arise from a disordered system due to interactions of distinct parts of the system. The incidence on interpersonal dynamics, especially the personality clashes and miscommunication between the group members, helped me to develop transferable skills to do with closing ranks when it comes to personality and cultural differences. The group would have attained a better rank if we resolved the disillusionment in the early stages of teaming as this would have deceased a long way in working harmoniously (Searle and Swartz, 2015).I also saw the fruits of commitment as the members were able to perform regardless of the cohesion problems.Incident 2The second incident was related to the individual performances and their plowshare to the overall group performance. Personally, I believe am a natural leader who takes the mantle of leadership in both situation. I believe that one does not need to be appointed formally to take the leadership role but can take the steering wheel from any position. I subscribe to the relationship-oriented leadership model where the leader is more focused on the human resources than the task at hand. I would motivate the members of the group by grave them how the assignment was important and how we should all be committed towards improving our ranking. The group needed a small dose of external motivation to hold back them going and energized (Beagle, 2012). When I was motivating and inspiring the team, I found the motivator in me, which was es sential in keeping myself going and also the group.I noticed that a team produced synergy and a better output than an individual but it is the latter that contributes to the results of the former. Despite the shaky start, we realized that we need to use our individual strengths for team success (Graham et al., 2012). At different points of the assignment, we had to assign and delegate duties and cover ground on the different actions that needed to be taken. We act to leverage on the strengths of the individual members as much as possible. The use of individual strengths to delegate tasks did not work effectively as I expected as the third phase of Fishers Theory of Decision growth was not adhered to. The third phase is the emergence phase where an individual needs to soften on their stance and let the interest of the team prevail over personal interests (Littlejohn, Foss and Oetzel, 2016). In some situations, we had to go with individual opinions instead of consensus, which did no t work well for the team.In the future, I would support for more compromise and consensus instead of personal opinions as the latter risks organism biased and non-inclusive. I learnt that anyone can be a situational leader if they wanted to make a difference amidst uncertainty and anyone can lead from any position (Alizor, 2013). I saw the importance of delegating duties as it covered more ground but it needs better coordination to achieve a common goal.I believe my strength and individual contribution was leadership and motivation.ConclusionI appraise the experience as it was an eye-opener especially on different aspects of group tasks. I understood how group dynamics can work against the success of a team and they need to be identified and dealt with at the early stages of an assignment. For instance, team members need to understand each others values and culture, and accommodate them. Understanding each other is the first step of breaking the communication barrier. I appreciate d the importance of effective communication, which our group lacked, eventually leading to poor coordination and cooperation. I must admit that the strength of our group lied in commitment more than anything else. After communication, personal interest was the other weakness. I learnt the need to let other team members express their mind, brainstorming and softening individual stance for the good of the team. I was a culprit myself of holding strong stances, sometimes unconsciously, on some of the issues. Looking back at the exercise, I acknowledge that for better interpersonal reactions, the parties need self-awareness. Lastly, I appreciated the power of leadership in motivating and inspiring team members towards tasks accomplishment.References Alizor, J. The group tried using common sense and logic as we hadnt known that the information was available on the mega learning website.Feeling disappointed with the result that we got for last week. However,we tried our best for the next decision to be better. Some group members go demotivated.Week 4(20/10/2016)1.To look over everything and looked at the results of the last simulation game and analyse it.2.We had the game reset this week3.Try to ma ke changes to the game in order to get better results.4.To ensure the use of the information available on the mega learning website and blackboard on the consumer sensitivity and market growth, in order to configure a clear strategy.a)George Iashvili -1300b)Claudia Borges-1300c)Carlos Chalhoub-1300d)Cagri Ozecoglu-1300e) Ilya Ignatov-did not attend, but informed the group ahead of non-attendance.-We all looked through the decision document and made decisions on each section together as a group after well discussing everything. Also, almost the whole group was at the meeting which was very beneficial for the decision analysis and strategy direction that the group wanted to take. There was a clash in per sonalities which was affecting some decisions. There was a lot of miscommunication between the group.Week 5(27/10/2016)1. Also, look at image cars due to gross sales tax being so low in that sector and see what is happening and what is affecting for cars not to be selling.5.Decrease low cost unit cost and family unit cost too.-Focus on region 1 as region 2 sales are good, however the sales for region 1 have gone down from last week.a)George Iashvili -14pmb)Claudia Borges-14pmc)Carlos Chalhoub-14pmd)Cagri Ozecoglu-14pme) Ilya Ignatov-14pm As a group, we tried to resolve our action points such as meeting more often, so timetable s were sent of each of the members timetable so we could see which daywould be the best to meet.Secondly, we looked at resolving our problem with image cars and why we were not selling as much cars as we could and found out this was due to capacity was low and tried to increase this for the next weeks decision.Thirdly, try to decrease the unit cost for low cost due to being too high and also for family the unit cost was too high as well so we decreased this too.Look over previous weeks results and contrast to current week to see what is happening and what is going wrong in the eco-friendly and image sectors and why our capacity is not increasing.Achieved a good ranking for region 1, however region 2 ranking went down.Week 8(17/11/2016)1.Focus on family cars sector because our sales have gone down a lot from previous weeks2.Focus on image sector too because our capacity for region 1 is still low and for region 2 is too low and we need to try and increase this.3.Discuss our results f rom previous week and what decisions need to be changed based on teachers feedback and our online results.a)George Iashvili -14pmb)Claudia Borges-14pmc)Carlos Chalhoub-14pmd)Cagri Ozecoglu-14pme) Ilya Ignatov-14pm-As a group we focused on looking at the capacity for the eco-friendly and image cars because it was really low and also tried to increase low cost cars capacity due to selling a lot of low cost cars each week, however not using all capacity.-Making sure that we kept some decisions the same such as low cost and family car unit prices.Week 9(24/11/2016)1.Looking at previous weeks decisions as it was good result and there was a lot of increase for capacity for all regions 1 and 2 and sales revenue increased. So look at what decisions were made that got as to have such a good result.a)George Iashvili -14pmb)Claudia Borges-14pmc)Carlos Chalhoub-14pmd)Cagri Ozecoglu-14pme) Ilya Ignatov-14pm-As a team we made sure we went through each region 1 and 2 and made sure we looked at the engineering, how much we were investing in capacity and also HR and also looking at unit prices for each sector such as low cost and family prices. These two sector prices were too high and causing us to lose customers.Capacity was also a problem for our region 2 because we had less capacity for low cost cars and family and we tried our best to increase this and tried to keep our costs down. However, at the same time trying to fix our problem with eco-friendly and image cars due to the fact that no cars were being sold in that sector.-Making sure that we make investments into region 2-Try to look at unit prices whether too high or low.Week 10(1/12/2016)1.Make investments in region 22. The sectors we tried to increase our capacity were low costs cars and family cars in region 1 and 2, and eco-friendly cars and image cars in region 2 due to the fact that the capacity was 0. Then Carlos sent a copy of the file by e-mail to everyone in the group to have a look at before we submitted.-We also made some investments in HR and capacity for region 2-Increase Capacity-Look at eco-friendly and image cars sectors for regions twoWeek 11(8/12/2016)1.Look at region 2 image cars and eco-friendly and see why no sales being made.2.Again increase capacity for region 1 low cost and family cars and try to use all capacity available.a)George Iashvili -1pmb)Claudia Borges-1pmc)Carlos Chalhoub-1pmd)Cagri Ozecoglu-1pme) Ilya Ignatov-1pm-As a group we discussed why we were having the problem in region 2 in the eco-friendly and image car sector. Due to the fact that for the last few weeks of dec isions we have put invested in the HR department and also made others investments but despite this these two sectors did not make any sales.-We made a decision to sell off eco-friendly and image cars in region 2 and use the money to invest in region-Decision to sell off region 2 eco-friendly
